I have for sale a 1995 Honda Del Sol Si. The car is in good shape for a car of its age. The motor has 225k miles on it but still runs incredibly strong. The transmission is also in awesome shape with no grinds and a great clutch.I bought this car about 2 months ago as a project but unfortunately don't have the money or time to finish it. The car will be sold as is, but should pass MD state inspection with some new tires (it passed in June of 2010 with my other wheels/tires on it). The car has been repainted so that paint is nice. I also have a t25 turbo and Greddy d-series manifold that I will sell with the car as well as original headlights, corner lights, fog lights, taillights and an Integra Type R strut bar.
$3,000 OBO.
Up for sale are my ITR brackets that have been milled down (by a machine shop) approximately 3mm. These brackets allow you to install Type R/Accord Wagon/CRV/Prelude Vtec/Viger/Legend brake calipers and redrilled 11.1in rotors (from a 94 Prelude Vtec) to integra knuckles without any problems. Since these were on my car for about 2 years, I would recommend that you replace the pins or at least grease them.

How does the vehicle speed sensor work?

I am a new owner of a 1992 Civic LX automatic. I have read all of the threads I could find on fixing speedometer issues and I'm still stuck. Does anyone know how the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) actually works?

My specific issue: When cold the speedometer works fine. After about 15 minutes of driving the speedometer needle starts to drop out, then it settles to about 20 mph, and eventually ends up at zero. Initially I was getting a VSS code with the CEL, so I replaced the VSS (that was before I started reading here). Replacing the VSS didn't fix the problem - I'm sure that doesn't surprise anyone reading this.

Here's what I know:
1. There are no blown fuses
2. The wire bundle is properly tied to the support under the intake manifold
3. There are no shorts to ground on any of the wires at the VSS
4. The wire from the VSS to the speedometer is good (about 0.4 ohms)
5. The cruise control does not work when the speedometer is not right
6. The odometer and trip odometer do not work when the speedometer is not right
7. The VSS connector is clean with a shiny new coat of terminal grease.

I connected an oscilloscope to the signal at the cluster and found that it is normally a 4.6 volt DC signal that drops to zero as the VSS registers. When the car is cold and the speedometer registers properly I read the signal as two pulses in quick succession. As the car heats up the two pulses become one pulse as the needle is jumping. When the signal is just one pulse the speedometer is steady, but reading low. Eventually the pulses go away and the speedometer is dead until the car cools down.

It looks like a sensor that doesn't like the heat to me, but I just replaced it and it didn't solve the problem then so I can't see how replacing it now will solve the problem. (Yes, I installed a new connecting link when I replaced the speed sensor) Are new speed sensors know to fail on installation? If not, I'm wondering about the input to the speed sensor. What spins the connecting link? Could that be bad? Is there something else I have missed in all this?

Thanks for any help

First of all i have a 92 honda civic. I swapped a Jdm D15b v-tec motor in it last summer. I've been having a bunch of issues with it over the year. At the moment its extremely laggy after i got the timing fixed because i guess it was 2 teeth off? But now i have a feeling that person was wrong because once i got it fixed its studders when im driving and lags until high rpms. It also runs really rich and the tps wont pick up now.

but to the real subject!
my car's clutch has seemed to be slipping when im from a stop to a start in first gear. especially when theres a lot of wait in the car or when im going up hill. it makes a loud chattering noise, and the car shakes like crazy until the clutch is completely let off. Idk if thats the clutch? flywheel? something with the axles? i have a new clutch just too hot here in vegas to change right now.

But over the past month sometimes when i started my car i would hear a really quick loud noise and it turned on. I cant even explain the noise.. ITS NOT A SQUEELING BELT NOISE..
But yesterday when i went to leave, i started my car and it made that loud sputtering noise for a couple seconds then started. Like it wasnt a real quick noise, it was like a cha cha cha cha cha cha (lol) and then started. It didnt sound good at all. So i didnt drive my car. Sounded like the clutch or something slipping/ clunking.

Any ideas??
THANKS FOR ANY HELP..

ive been ready to take it in to a shop just to get the running rich problem fixed, and the laggy timing/tps issue as well.. but the clutch slipping issue i was gonna fix myself once it was cooler out..but now i think it turned into something worse?

maybe its my starter?

I gave my car a new paint job and it turned out pretty good for my first time. Very little orange peel. It actually looks like paint jobs from the factory that come with a little orange peel. But when I began wetsanding it, I started noticing tiny white dots in the paint. I filtered the paint and clear before spraying. Cleaned my gun after every coat applied. What could cause this? Its not just in random spots. I started wetsanding my drivers side fender and stopped at the door because it was everywhere. I'm guessing I'll have to repaint either the whole car or just repaint those areas that were wetsanded and leave the paint the way it is. Unless I keep wetsanding and see if it will come out before getting too deep into the base?
